As the mother of three children, Jen is passionate about helping every child in Connecticut access a high-quality education, and she has devoted countless volunteer hours to this critical mission. Raised in a close-knit, middle-class family that prioritized education, Jen was able to realize her dream of attending the University of Notre Dame, largely with the support of her grandparents. After earning her degree in Economics and International Studies, she went on to spend more than a decade living and working abroad. This experience broadened her perspective and reaffirmed her belief that the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy as Americans are unmatched anywhere in the world.

Jen’s personal story underscores her belief in education as the foundation of opportunity. One of her top priorities as Connecticut’s next governor is to ensure access to great schools for every student because she believes that your zip code should not determine your opportunities in life.

A commitment to building a better future for Connecticut is Jen Tooker’s North Star. Jen, her husband of 29 years Mo, and their kids, Jack (23), Riley (20), and Nicole (16) want to call Connecticut home for many years to come – and she wants you to do the same. She is dedicated to supporting the aspirations of Connecticut’s residents and business owners by creating a government that works for all of us, with a focus on affordability and opportunity for our residents, a vibrant economy for our businesses and a quality education for our children.
